US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has led that the Pentagon to present all essential aid to Indian healthcare employees fighting the worsening coronavirus position in the nation.

The move comes immediately after US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris led towards mobilisation of American tools to help India to handle the unprecedented health catastrophe in the aftermath of the lethal 2nd tide of coronavirus.

“The women and men of this Department of Defence uphold our Indian spouses within their own hour of need. We have been in this fight together,” Austin said in an announcement on Sunday. Austin has been the first high level Biden government’s official to go to India a month.

Austin said he’s led the department to make use of every resource at its disposal, to directly encourage US interagency efforts to quickly supply India’s front line health workers with the substances they require. “We’re assessing the apparatus we are able to procure and draw out of our inventory in the coming weeks and days ”

“At the upcoming day or two, we’ll offer logistics and transportation help deliver needed supplies to India, for example oxygen-related equipment, rapid testing equipments, along with personal protective equipment,” Austin explained.
