Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has signed a law allowing reservists to be called for military service without declaring mobilization, his office said on Wednesday.

Approved by parliament late in March, the step makes it feasible to considerably boost the military, amid escalation of anxiety with Russia in southern Ukraine.

“this may make it feasible to quickly equip the military components of most defence forces together with reservists, thereby considerably boosting their combat effectiveness throughout military aggression,” the office said.
