A seat of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli said responsibility to guarantee oxygen distribution is directly on Central government and if needed, entire source of oxygen into businesses including steel and oil can be redirected for clinical usage.
“The steel and petro chemical businesses are oxygen guzzlers and deflecting oxygen from there may meet physicians’ requirements,” the bench said.
“If ta-tas can divert oxygen that they have been generating to their plants into medical usage, why can not the others? This really is the elevation of urgency. Are there any sense of humankind not or left,” the court observed.
The court was hearing a request in terms of desperate demand of oxygen into a few Delhi hospitals.
