PUNE: Mercedes-Benz, the leading German luxury car manufacturer in India, has unveiled the highly anticipated updated G-Class line-up for the Indian market. The new G 400d model replaces the immensely popular G 350d, which was launched back in 2019.
The newly imported Mercedes G 400d comes with a price tag of Rs 2.55 crore at pan India showrooms, which is Rs 83 lakh more than its predecessor, the G 350d.
Offering two distinctive trims, namely the ‘AMG Line’ and the India-specific ‘Adventure Edition,’ the Mercedes G 400d is now available for bookings starting at Rs 1.5 lakh. With the launch of the new G-Class, Mercedes continues its commitment to catering to the top-end luxury vehicle segment in the Indian market.
In the Indian market, the Mercedes G 400d will go head-to-head with the popular Land Rover Defender and the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
Customers can expect deliveries of the G 400d to commence in the last quarter of this year.
The AMG Line variant boasts remarkable features such as 20-inch wheels, a sunroof, ambient lighting, Nappa leather upholstery, and an immersive Burmester audio system.
On the other hand, the G 400d Adventure Edition stands out with its roof rack, spare wheel holder, full-size spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, logo projector, and multifunction wheel adorned with Nappa leather upholstery.
Under the hood, the G 400d is equipped with a powerful inline 6-cylinder diesel engine, generating an impressive 326 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 4-wheel drive system through a low-range gearbox. Mercedes claims that the G 400d can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 210 km/h.
“Continuing our focus on top-end vehicles, we are thrilled to introduce the New G-Class, a vehicle that embodies strength and enjoys an iconic status,” stated Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO at Mercedes-Benz India.
With its latest G-Class offering, Mercedes-Benz India aims to solidify its position in the luxury car market and provide discerning customers with an unparalleled driving experience.
