Jettwings Airways, a newly established airline in the aviation sector, made an exciting announcement on Wednesday. They have successfully obtained the no objection certificate (NOC) to operate Scheduled Commuter Air Transport Services in the country and are aiming to commence flights in October.

With their headquarters based in Guwahati, Jettwings Airways plans to provide regional connectivity to passengers, particularly in the Northeast and eastern regions, as part of the government’s UDAN scheme. If everything goes as planned, Jettwings will become the first-ever airline from the Northeast region to operate in the country.

Once they acquire all the necessary regulatory approvals, including the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Jettwings Airways intends to introduce a fleet of modern aircraft, including turbofan and turbo-propelled planes. Their goal is to offer premium economy services for regional travel, emphasizing superior service, comfort, and convenience for passengers.

Sanjive Narain, Chairman of Jettwings Airways, expressed the airline’s vision to revolutionize regional connectivity and contribute to economic growth. Narain highlighted the government’s commitment to improving air connectivity through the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), which has proven to enhance trade and boost the tourism sector.

Narain mentioned that Jettwings Airways anticipates receiving two aircraft by October and will commence operations as soon as the planes are acquired. Furthermore, the company plans to lease at least five planes within a year, selecting them from government-recommended companies. To support the initial funding of the project, Jettwings Airways has allocated Rs 100 crore.

Recognizing the demand for reliable and high-quality regional services, Jettwings Airways has assembled a team of experienced aviation professionals. The airline also intends to introduce a loyalty program to reward frequent flyers.

Sanjay Aditya Singh, Co-founder and CEO of Jettwings Airways, expressed the airline’s commitment to working closely with the DGCA to complete the necessary preparations for their operations. Singh emphasized Jettwings Airways’ dedication to becoming a dependable and sustainable airline deeply rooted in Northeast India, connecting unique yet significant destinations.
