Bhubaneswar sees the introduction of 5G services by Jio and Airtel

Jio and Bharti Airtel have launched their 5G services in the state capital of Odisha.

The launch event was attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who announced that the government has allocated Rs 5,600 crore for telecom services in the state for the 2022-23 financial year.

As part of this effort, 5,000 mobile towers will be installed across Odisha to provide world-class communication facilities.

In addition, 100 towers will be dedicated to providing 4G services in rural areas of the state. The government has also announced the establishment of a 5G research lab at Siksha O Anusandhan (SOA) University in collaboration with Jio.
