Additionally, the PDM is confronting the challenge posed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The current National Assembly’s five-year term is set to conclude on August 12, and as mandated by the Constitution of Pakistan, the fresh general election must be conducted within 60 days. A PML-N insider revealed that the primary focus of the Sharif-Zardari meeting revolved around the possibility of holding the elections in October or a later date.

“If the elections are held as scheduled, the caretaker government at the center will be chosen by the PPP and PML-N, with the consultation of Maulana Fazlur Rehman,” stated the source.
