German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Sunday that the administration was coordinating emergency aid to get India because the country struggles to handle an explosion in coronavirus infections.

“To those of India I would like to state my empathy on the terrible distress which Covid-19 has brought over your own communities,” Merkel said in an article shared on Twitter from her own spokesman Steffen Seibert.

“The struggle against this pandemic is the standard struggle. Germany stands in solidarity with India and is now desperately preparing a mission of service ”
