The Civil Aviation Ministry on Thursday permitted the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to run a feasibility study on using drones to send COVID-19 vaccine, in accordance with the official announcement.
The ICMR will run this particular study in cooperation with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, ” the ministry’s news release said.
The ministry said it’s given”conditional exemption” from the”Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Rules, 2021″ such it can run a feasibility study on using drones to send COVID-19 disease.
This exemption would be valid for a duration of twelve months or two until further requests, ” it also noted.
